Midland, TX – An 18-year-old motorcyclist tragically lost his life in a collision near Midland Park Mall on Tuesday evening, March 11. Local authorities identified the victim as Kaden Ray Barron, a resident of Midland.
The Midland Police Department (MPD) responded to the crash around 6:41 p.m. at the intersection of Midkiff Road and Moss Avenue after reports of a motorcycle and vehicle collision.
According to MPD’s preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet Blazer was attempting to turn into the Midland Park Mall when it was struck by a Kawasaki motorcycle. Witnesses stated the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic moments before the crash.
The impact of the collision caused fatal injuries to Barron, who was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders from Midland Fire and Police.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to determine all contributing factors. The crash has left the local community in mourning, with family and friends grieving the loss of the young man.
