18-Year-Old Storm Mote Identified as Victim in Fatal Concord Township Crash

CONCORD TOWNSHIP, OH — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal collision in Concord Township on Monday afternoon as 18-year-old Storm Mote, according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched around 12:37 p.m. to the 4600 block of West State Route 41 following reports of a severe crash involving multiple vehicles. When emergency crews arrived, they discovered a Toyota Highlander off the side of the road with extensive front-end damage. The driver, identified as Storm Mote, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators confirmed that a Kenworth semi-truck with an attached trailer was also involved in the collision. The truck came to rest on the south side of the roadway, and its driver was transported to Kettering Health Troy with non-life-threatening injuries.

A witness traveling behind the semi-truck told authorities that Mote’s vehicle crossed the center line, resulting in a head-on impact. The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation, analyzing vehicle data, roadway evidence, and witness statements to determine the precise cause of the crash.

Officials stressed the importance of remaining attentive behind the wheel, particularly on rural and high-speed routes like State Route 41, where even a brief lapse in focus can have devastating consequences.
