31-year-old Skylar Wells arrested after Thursday shooting that killed Gerald Frazier on Springview Avenue in Dallas, TX

DALLAS, TX (April 15, 2025) — The Dallas Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred last week in the 3300 block of Springview Avenue.

Authorities have identified the victim as 35-year-old Gerald Frazier, who was fatally shot on the morning of April 10. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 11:20 a.m., following reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they found Frazier suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

After several days of investigation, police arrested 31-year-old Skylar Wells on April 14, charging him with murder in connection with the case. The arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation, which remains active under case number 049894-2025.

Officials have not released further details about a possible motive or the circumstances leading up to the fatal encounter. Investigators continue to seek additional information to piece together the events of that day.
