MEMPHIS, TN – A well-known Memphis pastor was shot and killed outside a South Memphis bar early Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed. The incident took place just after 1:20 a.m. outside Momma’s Bar, located at 855 Kentucky Street.
Memphis police have arrested 42-year-old Samantha Marion in connection with the shooting. She has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.
The victim has been identified as Pastor Ricky Floyd, the Senior Lead Pastor at Pursuit of God Transformation Center and the founder of Salvation Revelation Ministries, a nonprofit organization dedicated to community outreach and spiritual development.
Altercation Escalates Into Deadly Shooting
According to investigators, Floyd and Marion were engaged in an argument inside the bar before the dispute spilled outside. Surveillance footage reviewed by police reportedly showed Floyd throwing Marion’s phone to the ground, as well as a beer can.
Authorities say Floyd then got into his vehicle and began to drive away but stopped, got out, and walked back toward Marion. At that moment, police say, Marion pulled out a firearm and shot Floyd, fatally wounding him.

Floyd was widely known for his leadership in the Memphis faith community, where he worked to uplift and transform lives through his ministry. His church and nonprofit were focused on empowering individuals through faith, mentorship, and community development.
As news of his death spread, tributes poured in from community members and fellow clergy who described him as a devoted pastor and mentor with a deep passion for helping others.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. Authorities have not yet released further details on the events leading up to the fatal encounter.
Marion is currently in custody as she awaits legal proceedings.
