SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse Police have arrested 43-year-old David Huff, the suspect wanted in connection with a double homicide that took place on Roney Road earlier this week.
Huff was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. near West Seneca Turnpike and South Avenue, authorities confirmed.
Victims Identified as 33-Year-Old Woman and 11-Year-Old Jeremiah Huff
According to Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick, Huff is suspected of fatally shooting a 33-year-old woman—with whom he reportedly had a romantic relationship—and his 11-year-old child, Jeremiah Huff.
Police responded to the 100 block of Roney Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17, following reports of a shooting with injuries.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the two victims suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Manhunt for Huff Ends in Arrest
Following the shooting, Syracuse Police launched an extensive search for Huff. Authorities described him as a white male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident.
After tracking his location, law enforcement apprehended Huff without further incident near West Seneca Turnpike and South Avenue.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic homicides.
