9-year-old Jordan Neal killed in North City St. Louis shooting that left two others injured – REPORT

ST. LOUIS, MO — A devastating act of gun violence took the life of a 9-year-old boy and left two family members injured during a suspected road rage shooting in North City St. Louis on Saturday night, May 24.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 9:00 p.m. near the intersection of Bircher Boulevard and Lillian Avenue. A family of six, including four children, was driving home when they were allegedly targeted by another driver in what authorities believe was a road rage incident.

Inside the family’s vehicle were 9-year-old Jordan Neal, his siblings — 10-year-old Richard Neal III, an 8-year-old brother, and a 4-year-old sister — along with their mother and father. The family was reportedly cut off by a red 2004 four-door Nissan Altima with tinted windows. Moments later, gunfire erupted from the suspect’s vehicle, striking multiple members of the family.

Jordan Neal, just 9 years old, was fatally wounded in the attack. He was later pronounced dead.

Richard Neal III, 10, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The children’s father was also struck and is currently in stable condition.

Miraculously, the children’s mother and 4-year-old sister were not physically harmed during the shooting.

Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene. At this time, no arrests have been made, and police are actively working to identify and locate the vehicle and those responsible.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is urging members of the public to come forward with any information that might assist in solving this crime.

“We believe someone in the community may have seen something that can help bring justice to this grieving family,” said a department spokesperson.
