Denver, CO — Family, friends, and former classmates are mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Hannah Wood (Severson), who passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2025.
A Minneapolis native and University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire graduate, Hannah had recently embarked on a new chapter of life, having married her husband Joseph Wood. The couple were newlyweds, building a life filled with excitement, plans, and dreams for the future. Their love story, now cut tragically short, has left an entire community in shock and grief.
Professionally, Hannah worked as a Marketing Account Specialist at Prime Therapeutics, where she was admired for her creativity, professionalism, and warmth. She brought thoughtful insight to her work and was known as someone who genuinely cared about her colleagues and the impact of her role.
Hannah studied Public Relations and Communications at UW–Eau Claire, where she made a lasting impression on the university’s community. Fellow Blugolds, especially those in the PR and Journalism program, remember her as a “bright, shining light” — a peer who lifted others up and always offered encouragement and friendship.
“She was always there with a smile, support, and the kind of positivity that made you feel seen,” one former classmate shared. “To know Hannah was to be inspired by her kindness.”
Though she had made her home in Denver, Colorado, Hannah’s roots remained firmly planted in Minneapolis, where she grew up surrounded by a close-knit network of family and friends. Her compassion, laughter, and authenticity made her beloved in every circle she entered.
Tributes have poured in across social media, painting a portrait of a woman whose light touched many — a devoted wife, a trusted friend, a passionate communicator, and a deeply loved daughter and sister.
