Born with a bright spirit and a smile that could light up even the darkest days, Acheron was a child who brought happiness to everyone around him. Whether it was the gleam in his eyes when he discovered something new, his infectious laughter echoing through the house, or the way he clung tightly to his favorite toys, every moment spent with Acheron was a moment filled with joy.
His mother, April, is left with a void that words cannot fill. She will miss the way he saw magic in the simplest of things — the excitement of spotting a butterfly, the way his eyes lit up at the sound of his favorite song, the way he giggled at bubbles, or marveled at rain puddles. More than anything, she will miss his smile — the smile that made even the hardest days feel lighter, and the smile that brought warmth to every heart it touched.
“Acheron always had a smile on his face,” April shared through tears. “He made everyone around him smile too. He just made people happy — that’s who he was.”
The pain of losing a child is something no parent should ever have to bear. The tragedy of Acheron’s passing has deeply affected not only his immediate family but the entire Benton community, who now rally around April with love, prayers, and support. In times like these, when sorrow feels overwhelming, it’s the shared memories, the kind words, and the outpouring of compassion that help carry a grieving family through.
Acheron may have only had three short years on this earth, but his impact was immeasurable. He will be remembered not for the length of his life, but for the depth of joy and love he brought into the world. He was a beam of sunshine on cloudy days, a gentle soul who reminded everyone of the beauty in life’s simplest moments.
As Benton mourns, we also honor. We remember Acheron for the way he lived — with love, laughter, and wonder. And we hold April and all of Acheron’s loved ones in our hearts, now and in the days to come.
Rest in peace, sweet Acheron Dean Leo Massey. Though your time here was brief, your light will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved you.
