It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Vernon Lee, a beloved coach, mentor, and community leader, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in February, 2025, near Freedom High School. Vernon was a dedicated basketball coach at Northern Virginia State University and an influential figure in the lives of many young athletes.

Vernon Lee was a lifelong lover of basketball and sports education. From an early age, he demonstrated a passion for mentoring and coaching, leading him to a career where he inspired generations of athletes to excel both on and off the court. His impact stretched beyond the game, as he instilled discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship in his players.
