A tragic multi-vehicle crash in Boone County, Indiana, claimed the lives of a mother and two children from Waterloo on Friday morning.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the accident involved a Kia Soul, a semi-truck, and a pickup truck. The driver, 27-year-old Ashley Morgan, was traveling westbound on I-74 when her vehicle crashed into the rear of a semi-truck. The impact caused the Kia to veer across the median and collide head-on with a pickup truck.
Morgan and two of her children did not survive the crash, while a third child was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Ashley Morgan, the driver of the Kia, was the mother of the three children involved in the accident.
Tragically, two of the children, aged 2 and 6, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The third child, an 8-year-old, is currently in stable condition at a local hospital. The Morgan family is from Waterloo, Iowa.
The pickup truck’s driver, Bo Redrowicz, and his passenger, Caleb Morey, sustained injuries and were also taken to a hospital. The semi-truck driver was evaluated at a medical facility.
The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) is investigating the incident.
