SAGINAW, MI — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a Saginaw woman late Saturday night, August 23, 2025.

According to the Saginaw Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:45 p.m. to the area of Emerson Street and Howard Street following multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim has since been identified as 43-year-old Cortney Michelle King, a Saginaw resident. Officials confirmed King’s identity Sunday morning as the investigation into the fatal shooting continues.
