COLUMBUS, Ga. — Authorities have released further details following a fatal shooting on Bay Avenue late Friday night that claimed the life of 18-year-old Kalielah Davis.

According to police, officers responded to reports of gunfire just after 11:20 p.m. on September 5. When they arrived, they found Davis suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where she was pronounced dead at 11:26 p.m.
The incident has left the Columbus community reeling, with family and friends mourning the sudden loss of a young woman remembered for her warmth, laughter, and kind spirit. Loved ones describe Davis as vibrant and full of promise, someone who had a gift for lifting up those around her with her smile and encouragement.
