NORTH DUMFRIES, Ont. — Waterloo Regional Police are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate the suspicious death of a 36-year-old Cambridge woman.

The victim, identified as Elizabeth Spurgeon, was discovered deceased near West River Road and Brant-Waterloo Road on the morning of Sept. 12, 2025.
On Monday, police released a photo of Spurgeon and urged family members, friends, and acquaintances to come forward with any information that may assist investigators.
“Investigators are appealing to the public for any information relating to the whereabouts of Ms. Spurgeon in the days leading up to the morning of September 12, 2025,” police said in a media release.
The case is being handled by the WRPS Major Crime Unit, and anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 519-570-9777, extension 8191.
