A night out at a Toledo bar turned deadly early Saturday morning, leaving 35-year-old Devonta Miller dead, another man injured, and a woman now behind bars facing murder charges. The Toledo Police Department is actively investigating the violent confrontation that unfolded inside the Bottom Line bar on Starr Avenue around 2:40 a.m.

Officers responded after receiving multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, police found two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment, but sadly, Devonta Miller succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The second victim, whose identity has not yet been released, is expected to survive.
Police quickly identified 32-year-old Andreania Pruitt as the suspected shooter. She was taken into custody and has since been formally charged with murder and felonious assault. Investigators confirmed that Pruitt and Miller had previously been in a romantic relationship, adding another layer of complexity and heartbreak to the already tragic situation.
Preliminary findings suggest that a physical altercation may have taken place inside the bar between Miller and the other male victim, and that the fight may have escalated into gunfire. Detectives are now working to determine exactly what led to the shooting and what Pruitt’s specific involvement was during the confrontation.
Pruitt is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, the Toledo community is mourning the sudden loss of Devonta Miller and searching for answers while police continue piecing together what happened inside the Bottom Line bar that night. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111 as the investigation remains ongoing.
