Fatal Athens Shooting: Teen Shot Dead on Davis Street; One Person Arrested

A teenager is dead and another individual is in custody after a shooting late Thursday night in Athens. Athens-Clarke County Police say officers were called to Davis Street after reports of gunfire and arrived to find the teen victim shot and unresponsive.

Investigators say the fatal shooting stemmed from an argument that took place during a dice game involving multiple people. The dispute escalated, leading to shots being fired. Emergency responders pronounced the teen dead at the scene.
