TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. — The Centreville community is grieving the tragic loss of 18-year-old Joshua McGlothlin, who was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Tuscaloosa County. The fatal accident has left family, friends, and classmates heartbroken as they remember a young life taken far too soon.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 82 near the 68-mile marker, roughly six miles west of Brent. Authorities said McGlothlin was driving a 2017 Ford F-150 pickup truck when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned.
Officials reported that McGlothlin was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. ALEA troopers continue to investigate the cause of the accident to determine what may have led to the vehicle leaving the roadway.
