M25 Car Accident: One Person Dead Following Police Incident That Shut Down Section of Motorway Near M3 Junction

Surrey, UK – A major stretch of the M25 near Heathrow Airport was shut down Monday after a fatal police-led incident left one person dead, authorities confirmed. The incident triggered significant disruption during the morning hours, forcing emergency crews to halt traffic and close the anti-clockwise carriageway between Junction 13 (Staines) and Junction 12 (M3).

According to National Highways, traffic in both directions was initially brought to a complete stop as emergency services responded at the scene. While the clockwise side has since reopened, the anti-clockwise carriageway remains closed as police continue their investigation.

Drivers are reporting delays of up to one hour anti-clockwise and approximately 45 minutes clockwise, with officials urging motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes whenever possible.

Heathrow Airport issued a travel advisory warning passengers that the incident could affect drive times to and from the airport.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased individual or details surrounding the circumstances leading to the incident. Police say further updates will be released once more information becomes available.

Motorists are encouraged to check live travel updates and plan additional time for their journeys as the investigation and road closures remain ongoing.
