The Des Moines community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kayla Breanne Frommelt, a beloved daughter, friend, and cherished member of the area. Kayla, 26, tragically passed away in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday, February 8, 2025, along Highway 141, near the 12100 block.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Kayla was the only occupant of the vehicle, which lost control while traveling southbound, veering into the west ditch and colliding with a tree. Despite the quick response of emergency personnel, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Kayla was known for her vibrant spirit, kindness, and ability to uplift those around her. She touched the lives of many with her generosity, infectious smile, and joyful presence. A devoted friend and loving family member, she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her parents, extended family, and numerous friends, who will always hold her memory close. Though her passing has left a profound void, her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire those who knew her.
