Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana community is mourning the loss of two young men, 24-year-old Jeremiah Downing and 22-year-old Hunter LaGrange of Hahnville, who tragically lost their lives in a devastating car crash on the evening of March 12, 2025. Details of the Crash

According to the Louisiana State Police Troop A, the fatal crash was a result of a high-speed pursuit that began when officers from the St. Gabriel Police Department attempted to stop a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Downing for speeding on LA 30. Rather than stopping, Downing attempted to evade law enforcement, accelerating westbound at an excessive speed.

As he approached the busy intersection of Bluebonnet Blvd, a 2016 GMC Sierra was traveling eastbound on LA 30, attempting to make a left turn. Tragically, Downing ran a red light at the intersection and collided head-on with the Sierra.

Loss of Two Young Lives

The violent impact of the crash resulted in catastrophic injuries. Downing, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he later succumbed to his injuries.
