Brookville, PA – The community of Brookville is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Jacob “Jake” Henry Popson, 19, who tragically lost his life in a car accident on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Born on November 4, 2005, in DuBois, PA, Jake was the beloved son of Jamie (Delamotte) Popson and the late Joshua Popson, Sr. His untimely passing has left a profound void among his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Life Filled with Energy and Adventure
Jake was a 2024 graduate of Brookville High School, where he was known for his charismatic personality, infectious humor, and mischievous charm. Though he often joked about his academic journey, his graduation was a moment of pride, both for him and those who supported him along the way.
After high school, he pursued a career as a self-contractor, taking on various jobs throughout the area, including working alongside his grandfather in their shared family passion. Jake’s work ethic and hands-on approach reflected his adventurous spirit and willingness to tackle anything that came his way.
His love for the outdoors was unmatched—whether it was hunting, fishing, riding, or participating in demolition derbies, he found joy in every adventure. He was always surrounded by friends and family, often stirring up a little bit of trouble in the best way possible.
A Loyal Friend and Cherished Family Member
To those who knew him, Jake was more than just a son, brother, and grandson—he was a loyal and cherished friend. His outgoing nature, sense of humor, and ability to bring laughter into any situation made him the life of every gathering. Known for being a prankster and a jokester, he had an uncanny ability to lift spirits, even when someone was upset with him.
Jake had a deep and unwavering love for his family and friends. He frequently checked in on them, ensuring they always knew they were valued and cared for. His tight-knit circle of friends was more like family—always looking out for one another, standing together through every challenge, and sharing a bond that will last a lifetime.

Remembering Jake
Jake is survived by his loving mother Jamie Popson, his four siblings—twin brother Jared Popson, Josh Popson, Janelle Popson, and Tye Phares, all of Brookville, PA—as well as his grandparents, extended family, and countless friends who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joshua A. Popson, and his great-grandparents.
Funeral Services
Family and friends will gather to honor Jake’s life on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the First Church of God (201 Freedom Lane, Brookville, PA 15825). Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Sam Wilson. Interment will be private.
