PHILADELPHIA, NY – A 23-year-old man was killed in a utility task vehicle (UTV) crash on Wednesday evening in Jefferson County, according to New York State Police.
Authorities responded to reports of the crash on County Route 30 in the town of Philadelphia at approximately 5:40 p.m. on March 19, 2025.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, identified as Ryan P. Gleisner of Philadelphia, NY, was operating a 2025 Polaris Ranger XP UTV when he lost control and veered off the roadway. The vehicle traveled through an embankment on the west side of the road before crashing into a wooded area, where it struck multiple trees.
Gleisner was ejected from the UTV upon impact and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
