Raleigh police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the evening of Thursday, March 27, 2025, in what has now been classified as a homicide case.
Gunfire Erupts on Cantwell Court
According to the Raleigh Police Department (RPD), officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1800 block of Cantwell Court at approximately 7:56 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered 38-year-old Alana Enoicy, who had suffered a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel quickly transported Enoicy to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but despite life-saving efforts, she succumbed to her injuries a short time later.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Following an investigation, authorities identified and arrested 65-year-old Keith L. Atkinson in connection with the shooting. He has been formally charged with the following offenses:
- Murder
- Possession of a Stolen Firearm
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and police have not yet disclosed a possible motive or the nature of Atkinson’s connection to the victim.
