Born to the late Joseph Tony and Audrey Downey, Tony grew up in a close-knit family alongside his siblings. Known for his generosity and ability to forge meaningful connections, Tony was a pillar of his community. He fulfilled his dream of creating a space for people to gather and connect by founding Downey’s House, a bar and restaurant that quickly became a community favorite.
Downey’s House wasn’t just a business—it was a reflection of Tony’s vibrant personality. Guests fondly remember the welcoming environment he created and the joy he brought to every interaction. Whether sharing a laugh or offering support, Tony exemplified the values of hospitality and friendship.
Above all, Tony cherished his role as a father and family man. He leaves behind his loving siblings and Heather Downey, the mother of his children, who remained a steadfast part of his life.
Friends, family, and community members are invited to celebrate Tony’s life at the Leo J. Henney Funeral Home in Carnegie on January 26, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Blessing Service to follow on January 27 at 11 a.m. Tony’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
