Stafford, TX – A disturbing road rage incident has sparked public outrage and an official investigation after a licensed Texas security officer was caught on video spewing racial slurs and allegedly assaulting a Black woman during a heated confrontation.
The incident, which unfolded at a gas station in Stafford, involves David Tupper, a white security guard who was recorded hurling racist language toward 32-year-old Denishia Lewis. According to Lewis, the altercation began at a nearby traffic light and escalated rapidly—culminating in verbal abuse, property damage, and an alleged physical assault.
In the video that has since gone viral, Tupper is heard shouting, “Get the (expletive) away from me, you classless (expletive),” before Lewis responds, “I’m a stupid N-word, everybody.” Tupper chillingly replies, “Yes, she is a stupid N-word,” both using the full racial slur in the exchange.
Before the confrontation turned into a racist tirade, Lewis says she first encountered Tupper at a red light, where she found herself stopped behind him. When the light turned green and he failed to move, she says she gave a light courtesy honk.
“I literally tapped the horn like this,” Lewis recounted, demonstrating a soft beep. “I thought I was giving a police officer a courtesy toot.”
According to Lewis, Tupper remained stationary on his motorcycle. She eventually maneuvered around him in the left lane to continue on her way. That’s when she says the situation escalated.
“I hear acceleration from the bike and the next thing you know, he speeds up beside me and punches my right mirror,” she said. The impact, she added, was strong enough to crack the mirror’s plastic casing.
When Tupper later stopped at a gas station, Lewis says she followed him to confront him about the damage. That’s where the now-infamous exchange was caught on video. Lewis also alleges that Tupper spat on her during the incident, an act she described as “completely dehumanizing.”
In addition to the racial slurs and alleged spitting, Lewis has filed a report claiming damage to her vehicle and physical intimidation. The incident is now under active investigation, with authorities confirming they are reviewing both the footage and Lewis’ official complaint.
The Texas Department of Public Safety, which oversees licensing for security officers, has not commented publicly but confirmed that Tupper holds a valid license. It’s unclear at this time whether any disciplinary action has been taken or if charges will be filed.
Community leaders and civil rights advocates are calling for swift accountability. “This kind of behavior is unacceptable from anyone, let alone someone in a position of trust and authority,” said one local NAACP representative.
Denishia Lewis, visibly shaken but resolute, says she’s speaking out to ensure no one else experiences such treatment. “I just want justice,” she said. “No one should be subjected to hate like that—especially not from someone who’s supposed to be protecting people.”
The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information to contact the Stafford Police Department.
