Authorities in Laredo are actively searching for 39-year-old Jose Manuel Gomez Robledo, who is wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred late Saturday night in a north Laredo neighborhood.
Laredo Police Department officers were dispatched to a home in the 9500 block of Allen Drive at approximately 10:38 p.m. on April 5 following multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Juan Esteban Galindo, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, identified as Jorge Luis Gomez, 53, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Investigators have identified Gomez Robledo as the primary suspect in the shooting, which authorities have confirmed was domestic in nature. All individuals involved were either related or personally known to one another, according to police.
In a disturbing turn of events following the shooting, police say Gomez Robledo allegedly forced a family member at gunpoint to drive him away from the scene. He was reportedly dropped off near an international bridge in downtown Laredo, sparking concerns that he may attempt to flee across the border.
Gomez Robledo is now wanted on three first-degree felony warrants, including Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Aggravated Assault – Family with a Deadly Weapon.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Laredo Police Department at (956) 795-2800 or Crime Stoppers at 727-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous, and tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward.
The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement agencies work to locate and apprehend Gomez Robledo.
