In April 2018, a devastating car accident in Mascotte, Florida, claimed the lives of four young mothers: Tierra Janee Chambers, Rosalyn Rondrette Felton, Kambrea Renee Smith, and Shakeila Denae Smith. The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on State Road 50 near South Talbott Avenue. The four women were leaving a local establishment when their vehicle was struck by a pickup truck driven by Heather Finley, then 23 years old.

Investigations revealed that Finley was driving at 59 mph in a 35 mph zone under dark and rainy conditions. The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of three of the women, with the fourth succumbing to her injuries later at the hospital.
In September 2022, after prolonged legal proceedings, Finley accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to four years in prison, followed by six years of probation. She was also ordered to pay $200,000 in restitution. The families of the victims expressed profound disappointment with the sentence, feeling it was insufficient given the magnitude of their loss.
The tragic loss of these four women left a lasting impact on their families and the community, highlighting the devastating consequences of reckless driving.
