Bear, Delaware — The community of Bear, Delaware, is deeply saddened by the passing of Andrea J. Wallace, who left us on April 8, 2025, at the age of 30. Born on June 15, 1994, Andrea was a beacon of light and kindness, touching the lives of everyone she encountered.
Andrea was the cherished daughter of Robert and Linda Wallace. Growing up in Bear, she exhibited a passion for learning and a deep commitment to her community. She attended Glasgow High School, where she excelled academically and participated in various extracurricular activities, including the school’s drama club and volunteer programs.
After graduating in 2012, Andrea pursued higher education at the University of Delaware, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Her dedication to helping others led her to a fulfilling career at a local non-profit organization, where she worked tirelessly to support underprivileged families and advocate for social justice.
Andrea’s compassionate nature extended beyond her professional life. She was an active member of the Bear community, volunteering at local shelters and organizing community events aimed at fostering unity and support among residents. Her friends and family remember her as someone who always put others before herself, offering a listening ear and a helping hand whenever needed.
In her personal life, Andrea had a love for the arts. She enjoyed painting and often found solace in expressing herself through her artwork. Her paintings, which often depicted scenes of nature and community life, were a reflection of her inner beauty and her appreciation for the world around her.
Andrea is survived by her parents, Robert and Linda Wallace; her younger brother, Matthew Wallace; her grandparents, James and Eleanor Wallace; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate Andrea’s life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Bear Community Church, located at 123 Main Street, Bear, Delaware. The family invites all who knew and loved Andrea to attend and share their memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Andrea’s honor to the local non-profit organization where she dedicated her career, Helping Hands of Delaware, to continue her legacy of compassion and service.
Andrea’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her spirit of kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to others will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
