A fatal shooting on Thursday evening on Dustin Court has claimed the life of an 18-year-old male, according to the Killeen Police Department.
Officers arriving at the scene found the victim with a gunshot wound and immediately administered life-saving measures until paramedics took over. Despite these efforts, the victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead at 6:31 p.m.
The victim’s identity has not been released, as authorities are notifying his next of kin.
Police have confirmed that a 20-year-old male suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident. He is currently being held at the Killeen City Jail while formal charges are being prepared.
Officials have reassured the public that this appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.
