Toronto’s Riverdale Shooting: Suspects at large after double fatal shooting on Bain Avenue, near Logan Avenue

TORONTO (April 15, 2025) — A manhunt is underway in Toronto’s Riverdale neighborhood after a double shooting late Tuesday night left two men dead.

Toronto Police were called to a residential area on Bain Avenue, near Logan Avenue, shortly after 11 p.m., following reports of multiple gunshots. When officers arrived at the scene, they located two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition. He later succumbed to his injuries, police confirmed.

Authorities have not yet specified where the shooting took place or where the victims were found. However, evidence markers could be seen placed near a civilian vehicle parked along Bain Avenue, suggesting the vehicle may be central to the investigation.

At this stage, police have released a limited description of the suspects, identifying them only as two males dressed in dark clothing. The pair were last seen fleeing on foot in the direction of Withrow Park, located just north of the shooting scene.

In response to the violence, Bain Avenue has been cordoned off, and a large police presence remains in the area as detectives work to gather evidence, canvass the neighborhood, and review surveillance footage.

“The community is definitely going to see an increased police presence in the area,” said Acting Duty Inspector Todd Jocko, speaking to reporters early Wednesday. “Rest assured, we’re conducting a thorough investigation and taking all necessary steps to maintain public safety.”

Investigators are urging anyone with information or security footage from the area around Bain Avenue and Logan Avenue between 10:30 p.m. and midnight to come forward and assist in the ongoing homicide investigation.

The names of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
