71-year-old Kathaleen Houck of Radcliffe killed in Thursday car-train collisionon 290th Street, between E Ave. and F Ave.

The name of the woman who died Thursday when her automobile struck a train has been made public by the Iowa State Patrol.

According to the ISP crash report, the collision occurred on 290th Street between E and F Avenues at approximately 10:53 a.m. About three miles southeast of Radcliffe is where that is.

At the railroad crossing, 71-year-old Kathaleen Houck’s Toyota Prius was heading east on 290th Street when she neglected to yield to a northbound train. The Prius’s rear passenger side was struck by the train.

The rail crossing lacks cross-arms but has flashing lights and is situated on a gravel road.

Houck passed away after being flown by air ambulance to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

The ISP is still looking into the crash.
