NOBLESVILLE, IN — A heartbreaking tragedy has left a deep void in the Noblesville community following a fatal crash on Wednesday night that claimed the life of Nicholas Edward McKnight, 38, a beloved father, friend, and neighbor. The devastating collision occurred just after 8:35 p.m. on East 146th Street near Promise Road, roughly two miles west of the State Road 37 interchange.

According to the Noblesville Police Department, McKnight was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on East 146th Street when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle crossed the center median into the eastbound lanes. His truck collided head-on with a GMC Acadia SUV carrying a young family.
Nicholas McKnight was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. He was alone in his truck at the time of the crash.
The SUV was driven by Jordan A. Hill, 29, of Anderson, Indiana, with passengers Hailey B. Hill, also 29, and their one-year-old daughter Aubrey Hill. Thankfully, all three survived the collision and were transported to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel with injuries that authorities said are not believed to be life-threatening.
In the aftermath of the accident, East 146th Street was closed in both directions between Marilyn and Promise Roads for several hours as investigators reconstructed the crash scene, reopening around 12:50 a.m. Thursday.
