23-year-old Pasadena, Maryland woman Victoria Lee Remmey stepped into the travel lane when she was fatally struck by vehicle on Catherine Avenue

Pasadena, MD — Tragedy struck on the evening of April 24, 2025, when a young woman lost her life following a vehicle collision in Pasadena. At approximately 6:10 p.m., officers with the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to the area of Catherine Avenue near 231st Street after receiving reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, a Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on Catherine Avenue when a pedestrian, identified as 23-year-old Victoria Lee Remmey of Pasadena, Maryland, stepped off the sidewalk and into the travel lane. The vehicle, unable to stop in time, struck the pedestrian.

The driver of the Nissan Altima remained on the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement officials. There were no immediate indications of impairment or reckless driving on the part of the driver, though a thorough investigation is ongoing.

Emergency medical personnel responded quickly, and Ms. Remmey was transported to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased in the early hours of April 25, 2025.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team. Authorities are working to gather additional details, including possible witness statements and any surveillance footage from the area, to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

Victoria Lee Remmey was a resident of Pasadena and, at just 23 years old, her untimely passing has left a deep sense of sorrow within the community. Friends, family, and neighbors are mourning the loss of a young life taken far too soon.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department urges anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have relevant information to contact the Crash Reconstruction Team or the department’s tip line. No further information is being released at this time pending the completion of the investigation.
