41-year-old Jay Morales killed in San Antonio road rage shooting near the corner of Spring Time Drive and Spring Hurst Drive

The person who was shot dead in a road rage incident has been identified.

The victim was identified by the medical examiner’s office as 41-year-old Jay Morales. Gunshot wounds were identified as his cause of death, while homicide was listed as his manner of death.

Around 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, a shooting occurred close to the intersection of Spring Hurst Drive and Spring Time Drive.

Police said the suspect claimed the victim exited his car, walked around to his trunk, and took out a gun. Then, according to the suspect, he fired in self-defense.

Police detained the suspect, who stayed at the site. As of right now, no charges have been brought in this case. The investigation remains ongoing.
