Kalynthia Mitchell killed in Sunday night shooting on Park Towne Way in Montgomery, Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Montgomery police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred late Sunday night on the city’s east side.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 4700 block of Park Towne Way around 11:40 p.m., according to a police spokesperson. Upon arrival, they found a woman, later identified as Kalynthia Mitchell, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have launched a homicide investigation. As of Monday morning, no additional details regarding possible suspects or motives have been released.
