Flushing, MI — The Powers Catholic High School community is deeply mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of 15-year-old Mya Hoberg, who tragically passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a profound void in the lives of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mya, a freshman at Powers Catholic, was known for her radiant personality, her kindness, and her exceptional spirit. Her sudden death has shaken the school community to its core, leaving students, teachers, and staff struggling to cope with the loss of such a bright, young life.
Mya was the embodiment of warmth and compassion, always making others feel seen and valued. Her infectious laughter and positive energy lit up every room she entered, and she was a beloved friend to many. Whether it was through her involvement in school activities or her interactions with peers, Mya consistently demonstrated what it meant to be thoughtful, selfless, and caring.
