Cedric Goodwin was discovered inside a black Honda CR-V that had rolled over and crashed near Russell Street and Highview Lane after dispatchers were alerted to the crash at 2:09 p.m., authorities reported.

Police confirmed that Goodwin, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found unresponsive at the scene. Medics identified a gunshot wound in his back, and he was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
