Erick Jorell Reyes of New Britain, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 42.
Born on January 10, 1983, in Manhattan, NY, Erick was the beloved son of Frederick Reyes and Lydia Vazquez.
A highly accomplished professional, Erick was a two-time Emmy Award-winning Studio Operations II specialist for ESPN, where he was deeply respected and cherished by his colleagues.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Reyes; his mother, Lydia Vazquez; his father, Frederick Reyes, and his wife, Nora Reyes, along with Jimmy and Diana; his sister, Layla, and her husband, Anthony Rascona; his aunt, Rosie Patiño; his uncle, Robert Garcia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He will also be dearly missed by his ESPN family, who admired and valued him greatly.
Erick’s life was defined by his passion, kindness, and commitment to excellence. He brought joy to those around him with his infectious smile and positive energy, creating meaningful connections with everyone he met. His contributions to his field and his unwavering dedication to those he loved will never be forgotten.
