WHITEHALL, OH — Authorities have released additional information following a fatal shooting late Friday night at a popular billiards hall that left one man dead.
Officers with the Whitehall Division of Police responded to reports of gunfire at Players Family Billiards, located at 4380 East Main Street, shortly before 11:50 p.m. on Friday, June 6.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Cori Diverrs suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency personnel transported Diverrs to Mount Carmel East Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police have not yet disclosed any information regarding suspects or potential motives behind the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The tragic incident has shaken the local community, as Players Family Billiards is known as a longstanding gathering spot. Friends and family of Diverrs are now mourning the unexpected loss of a man described as kind-hearted and well-liked by those who knew him.
