Montgomery, Ala. — The Montgomery community is mourning the loss of Ann Sledge, 56, who was killed in a house fire early Tuesday morning, according to local authorities.

Montgomery Fire/Rescue officials said crews were dispatched around 2:40 a.m. to a one-story home in the 3600 block of Loxley Lane after receiving reports of a structure fire. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported among responding firefighters.
