Brewster, WA — Authorities are investigating a tragic multi-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a pedestrian late Saturday night along State Route 97, just five miles east of Brewster. The Washington State Patrol has confirmed that the pedestrian killed in the incident has been identified as Annette Gorr, 64, of Brewster.

According to investigators, the chain of crashes began when Gorr was walking in the northbound lane of SR-97 for reasons still unknown. A northbound vehicle driven by 59-year-old Anselmo Morales-Enriquez struck the pedestrian after attempting to swerve and avoid her but was unable to safely maneuver out of the lane. The impact caused Gorr to fall and remain in the roadway following the initial collision.
Morales-Enriquez immediately stopped and pulled off to the shoulder to render aid and contact authorities. As he attempted to assist, a second northbound vehicle also struck Gorr — but that driver fled the scene without stopping, according to WSP.
Moments after the second strike, a third vehicle driven by 22-year-old Jeremy Liberty of Easton, also collided with Gorr before continuing northbound. Liberty was later located by law enforcement.
Emergency crews arrived shortly after and pronounced Gorr deceased at the scene.
The Washington State Patrol is now actively searching for the second driver who fled and is urging anyone with information — dashcam footage, witness accounts, or knowledge of vehicles in the area during the timeframe — to contact authorities immediately.
Investigators are working to determine what led Gorr to be walking in the lane and the full sequence of events that resulted in this devastating loss.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. More details will be released when available.
