POMONA, CA — Pomona authorities and family members have confirmed that 34-year-old Brianna “Bri” Sanchez was the woman fatally shot Monday evening in what investigators are treating as an apparent murder-suicide. Sanchez, born September 20, 1991, was found inside an apartment at the Sienna Residences on East 3rd Street.

Early reports indicate that the incident may have involved a domestic dispute. Family and friends have said Sanchez was allegedly shot by her long-time boyfriend following a disagreement inside the home. Officials have not released specific details on the motive or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Police Respond to Fatal Shooting

Pomona police were called to the 700 block of East Third Street at approximately 6:38 p.m. after reports of a shooting. Officers arriving on the scene found an adult female—later identified as Sanchez—and an adult male, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene. The male victim, whose identity has not been officially released, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
