BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. – The community of Hinesville, Georgia, is mourning the tragic loss of Brittney Shuler, a 36-year-old woman who died in a car accident on Saturday, June 7, in Beaufort County, South Carolina.

The fatal crash occurred around 5:25 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 170 and Snake Road, approximately 13 miles west of Beaufort, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Officials say Shuler was driving a 2008 Ford sedan eastbound on the highway when her vehicle collided with a 2022 Ford pickup truck that was attempting to turn left onto Callawassie Drive.

Shuler died at the scene from blunt force injuries, the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office confirmed. She was pronounced dead at 5:31 p.m.

Three passengers in Shuler’s vehicle were injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, according to Master Trooper William Bennett.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
