According to Sergeant Eddie Espinoza of the Bullhead City Police Department, officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant issued by San Bernardino County, California, when they located Gaudio at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Campbell Road.
“Police attempted contact and began making announcements requesting the suspect exit the apartment and surrender,” Espinoza said in a statement. After a period of attempted negotiation, Gaudio stepped out onto a second-story balcony and died by self-inflicted gunshot wound before officers could intervene. Emergency medical responders were dispatched to the scene and pronounced him deceased.
Out of respect for the family, Gaudio’s name was initially withheld until next of kin were notified.
