AUTAUGAVILLE, AL – Authorities in Autauga County are investigating a deadly carjacking attempt that occurred late Monday night, leaving a woman dead and her brother critically injured.

According to Autauga County Sheriff Mark Harrell, the violent incident took place around 11:40 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 14 and Pickett Street. What began as an apparent carjacking quickly turned fatal, claiming the life of one victim and sending another to the hospital with severe injuries.

Victims Identified

Authorities confirmed that siblings Cameron Reynolds and his sister were the targets of the armed attack. Tragically, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while Reynolds sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. His current condition remains unknown as he continues to fight for his life.
