BOURBON, IN — The tight-knit community of Bourbon, Indiana, is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Derek T. Anderson, 35, who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash in Kosciusko County on the morning of Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 8:00 a.m. on County Road 300 West, approximately half a mile north of CR 1350 North. Preliminary reports indicate that Derek was driving southbound when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle crossed the center line, left the roadway, and struck both a signpost and a guardrail. The impact caused the car to overturn and come to rest on its roof in a water-filled ditch.
Emergency crews responded swiftly, but tragically, Derek was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner.
