Dewaun Deshawn Robinson Arrested: Suspect in Jackson Hill Mass Shooting in Custody

Muskegon authorities have identified 25-year-old Dewaun Deshawn Robinson as the suspect in the Jackson Hill neighborhood shooting that left two dead and three others injured on Saturday, December 6. Police confirmed Robinson is currently in custody and receiving medical treatment for gunshot wounds sustained during the incident.

The shooting occurred around 3:15 p.m. at a residence on the 600 block of Jackson Avenue, shaking one of Muskegon’s typically quiet neighborhoods. Responding officers found multiple victims suffering from gunshot injuries. A 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene; their identities have not yet been released.

Three additional victims were injured in the attack, including a 4-year-old child who sustained minor injuries and was expected to be released from a local hospital. Investigators have indicated that the shooting does not appear to have been random.

Authorities noted that Robinson has a prior record, including home invasion offenses, though it remains unclear how that history may relate to the current case.

Muskegon Mayor Ken Johnson issued a statement Saturday night, calling for the community to come together in support of the victims and first responders. “Let’s hold the victims, their families, our neighbors, and all the first responders and medical professionals in our hearts, prayers, and thoughts,” Johnson said. “May our community come together in care for one another, as we navigate these traumatic events, and in pursuit of justice.”

Detectives continue to investigate the shooting, reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Muskegon Police Department at 231-724-6750 or reach out anonymously to Silent Observer at 231-722-7463.
