The internet has once again fallen victim to a false death rumor, this time involving Si Robertson, the beloved “Uncle Si” from Duck Dynasty. Reports circulating on social media in January 2025 claimed that Robertson had passed away, sparking confusion and concern among fans.
The source of the hoax appears to be a Facebook post from the page “Back the Badge Wisconsin,” which confidently stated: “Duck Dynasty’s Uncle Si has passed today. He was 78 years young.”
This rumor seemingly originated from news of a recent hunting accident that left Robertson hospitalized and temporarily unable to participate in his Duck Call Room podcast. However, the post took the facts and spun them into a false narrative about his death.
Fortunately, many followers of the Facebook page called out the misinformation. One highly rated comment pointed out: “He was treated and released…may want to verify stuff before you post false info.” Another frustrated commenter added: “I’m tired of the fake information this page puts out, research your information before posting it.”
According to Duck Call Room podcast co-hosts Phillip McMillan and Justin Martin, Robertson is recovering well after the accident. The incident occurred when Robertson hurriedly tried to exit a boat after a hunting trip and fell near the boathouse.
Justin Martin explained, “Typical Silas Robertson, in a big dang hurry to get out of the boat and into the Polaris… he fell trying to get out of the boat. Just on the bank there.” He added humorously, “If you don’t go off the nose of the boat like the very nose, you will fall. I know this because I have fallen right there.”
Fans can rest assured that Si Robertson is alive and on the mend, despite the unfounded rumors making the rounds online.
