The Lancaster community is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Eric Edwin Karnath, who passed away on April 5, 2025, at the young age of 30. Known for his warm spirit, deep love for his family, and vibrant presence both on and off the softball field, Eric leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering dedication to those he loved most.
Born on May 22, 1994, Eric was a proud son of Catherine Karnath and William Karnath and grew up with strong family values, a competitive edge, and a compassionate heart. Those who knew him remember a man who was always the first to offer help, share a laugh, and bring people together — whether at family gatherings, local sports events, or quiet moments at home.
Eric was the beloved husband of Jenna Rae Wallace, and the two shared a bond built on mutual respect, laughter, and love. Together, they created a life filled with shared dreams, strong support for one another, and countless memories that will be forever treasured. As a son-in-law, Eric was deeply loved by Michelle and Martin Wallace, and as a brother-in-law, he formed close and meaningful relationships with Julia, Jaime, Joseph, and Jaclyn Wallace, all of whom cherished him dearly.
Eric’s passion for softball was more than just a pastime — it was a key part of his life. Whether he was playing on the field, cheering on teammates, or organizing games with friends, Eric brought energy, sportsmanship, and community spirit to every match. He will be fondly remembered by fellow players and fans across Lancaster and beyond.
Family and friends will have the opportunity to gather and pay their respects to Eric on Friday, April 11th, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Zurbrick-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, located at 5615 Broadway, Lancaster. Prayers will be offered on Saturday, April 12th at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Church in Sloan.
As the community comes together to mourn this devastating loss, we hold in our hearts the memory of a man who gave so much to others. Eric’s presence, laughter, and love will continue to echo in the lives of all who had the blessing of knowing him.
