Further details released after 18-year-old Deglin St. Clair was shot dead on Wesley Street in Wilkinsburg

WILKINSBURG, Pa. — Authorities have released new details following the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Deglin St. Clair, who was found critically wounded Wednesday evening in Wilkinsburg and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

According to the Allegheny County Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly before 5:30 p.m. on the 1700 block of Wesley Street. First responders located St. Clair at the scene and rushed him to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was publicly identified Thursday morning as a resident of the Larimer neighborhood in Pittsburgh.

While the investigation remains active, police say it is still unclear exactly where the shooting took place.

“Detectives are still trying to determine where the shooting actually occurred,” said Lt. Venerando Costa of the Allegheny County Police.

The incident marks another tragic loss to gun violence involving a young member of the community. St. Clair’s death has sparked concern and sadness across both Wilkinsburg and Larimer.
