Further details released after suspicious death of 17-year-old Christian Walker in Keene

KEENE, N.H. — A community is in mourning and authorities are actively investigating following the tragic death of 17-year-old Christian Walker of Orange, Massachusetts, who was fatally shot early Wednesday morning in Keene.

 

According to the New Hampshire State Police and the Keene Police Department, the incident occurred in a parking lot on Winchester Street. Just after midnight, police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Walker suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Cheshire Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:49 a.m..

An autopsy was performed later in the day by Dr. Abigail Alexander, Associate Medical Examiner. The results confirmed that Walker died from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, and his death has been officially ruled a homicide.

As of now, investigators say all parties involved have been identified. While the precise circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, authorities emphasize that there is no ongoing threat to the general public.
